This master blues guitarist will be back on tour starting in June after almost losing his life. Trout underwent a liver transplant in Sept. 2014 and a post-transplant surgery biopsy ended up giving him a very serious sepsis infection.
Thank God now he is doing well although a dramatic weight loss. Wish Detroit was on the tour list but the closest is Chicago in Aug.
He kicks it off June 15 at Royal Albert Hall, London UK then the USA through Sept. and on to Europe.
Whole tour list here.
Welcome back Walter, what a career you’ve had and hopefully will continue to have for another couple of decades.
Written by Walter Trout & Jimmy Trapp
Originally released off the 1990 Walter Trout Band album “Prisoner Of A Dream”.
This Live version from the 2009 album “Unspoiled by Progress” which is Trout’s own picks of favorite live and studio recordings that spanned over 20 years. This song was from a 2005 Las Vegas show and would feature the last recording done with bassist Jimmy Trapp who died in Aug. of that year.
Trout is not a new kid on any block, in fact he has been around the block a few thousand times and back. Starting in the late 1960s starting with Percy Mayfield, Deacon Jones then everybody throughout the years with John Lee Hooker, Big Momma Thorton, Joe Tex, Canned Heat and John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers. He finally went solo in 1989.
Frankly I don’t know what took him so long.
From what I have listened to from his Discography of Albums and CDs he is one hell of a Bluesmen.
