What has come across the news wire within the last hours has more than saddened me. The death of 68-year-old guitarist Alvin Lee.

I may be going on 56 but in my mind I’m still that Woodstock Generation teenager. And the performance that this man gave at that concert of all concerts will forever be etched in my mind.

Friday Fried Out ~ “Tough On Me, Tough On You” ~ Chris Farlowe & The Norman Beaker Band

Both of these men have never stopped since they arrived on the music scene during the British Invasion of the early-mid 60s for Farlowe and mid-late 60s for Beaker.

And as you can hear for yourself Chris Farlowe’s pipes have only gotten better with time and at the age of 71 is still touring with somebody.

Norman Beaker has played with every known major blues player from Lowell Fulson, Graham Bond to BB King and all in-between.

This is just a grittier, more soulful and blusier rendition of writer Lonnie Mack’s song that defines both Farlowe’s & Beaker’s blues genre passion.
