Sunday Sleep In ~ “No Love Without Tears” ~ Duško Gojković.

Another beautiful composition by this Serbian trumpeter & flugelhorn player who’s been around forever, sadly just not a household name it would seem here. What a shame.

This gem was released in 1995 off his album, Bebop City.

  1. Thank you for starting my Sunday so beautifully. That music flows like silk.

  2. You are more than welcome. May it take you on a journey. 🙂

  3. What a sweet thought. 🙂

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they played music like this on long, long journeys. You’d never want the journey to end. It’s the kind of playing that you can step inside and inhabit. My son’s learning the trumpet and he’s just called in from the other room to ask who this is. Thank you for that too 🙂

  4. Fantastic!!! Your son and many need to hear the name Duško Gojković. He had a horrible beginning in his country that forbid him playing or face prison, nevertheless he sought his dream and prevailed. Like your avatar, the songbird who had escaped to sing and soar while doing it.

The fact that your son asked who was playing means he’s seeking, hope he never stops seeking and learns to hear the music not through his ears but through his heart. That in itself should one day make him among the best. Whole blog is full of jazz and trumpet players, tell him to dive in and stay under for as long as he can.

Anytime I can turn somebody young on…

You made my day, Thank You!
