In reality this was the only Fleetwood Mac I have ever related to.
The original Blues-Based mid-late 1960s band.
When Peter Green left, for me it was never the same. Yes they continued on and so did he. Both scoring big but with one exception, Green stuck to his roots and it was those roots that made him grow bigger and bigger and in essence would put his playing in the history books forever.
The Green Manalishi was among the very best of his compositions.
First recorded live in Boston (Boston Tea Party) over a two day period, Feb. 5-7, 1970. Just months later Green would leave Fleetwood Mac. For a very short period of time in 71′ Green helped the band finish a tour then they would part for good.
In my opinion they left the best behind but he has survived masterfully.
Peter Green – guitar, lead vocals
Danny Kirwan – guitar, vocals
John McVie – bass
Mick Fleetwood – percussion, drums
Jeremy Spencer – guitar, vocals, piano
Thanks. Your blog here has never failed to change my state of conciousness. I look forward to it
Thank You Patrick.
I’m just glad I was born when I was, so much in the musical realm from 57′ on to enjoy. I consider myself fortunate to have gotten a taste of my parents world and all inbetween along with mine.
Hope I never disappoint.
