Only this time machine will be coming here this Friday on the opening night of Detroit’s 2012 International Jazz Festival. Sonny Rollins hits the JP Morgan Chase Stage at 8:45PM, located at Camp Martius.
This 5 stage 4 day/night Jazz Fest is one of the best in the world and has had many of legends play here in it’s now 34th year history in the Motor City. Nowhere else on this planet can you hear the best in Jazz for absolutely Free.
That’s right it costs the public who attends zero dollars to see all this entertainment.
But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t take money and a lot of volunteers to operate this Labor Day Weekend Festival. If there was any venue worthy of a donation it is this one. You get a taste of yesteryear and the present combined into one heavenly jazz bliss that I guarantee will go home with you and be within your musical soul forever.
So please come downtown, experience, enjoy and support it anyway you can.
