Sunday Trip ~ No Quarter ~ Led Zeppelin

Written by Jones, Page, & Plant.

Robert Plant – vocals
Jimmy Page – guitars, theremin
John Paul Jones – bass pedals, acoustic and electric piano
John Bonham – drums

This was the only song I liked off Zeppelin’s 5th “Houses Of The Holy” album released in 1973 with maybe also The Rain Song.

No Quarter was like walking into another realm. Remember being at a party and all of us were stoned (weed) out our gourds and when this song started playing it felt like I got inside and became part of the song.

The muse was like instruments bouncing off each other into a mix of psychedelia of both rock and jazz combined with an intertwining echo throughout each and every chord.

This live 1975 Dallas performance in three parts really highlights the talent of John Paul Jones. In parts two & three ( click onto ) he took this version way beyond Rock to a Classical genre trip and back.
