The first North American 1969 Tour (six weeks) actually kicked off at Detroit’s Grande Ballroom in May ending with one of two shows at The Fillmore West on June 19. It was to promote their “Tommy” album.
Magic Bus had always been one of my favorites from this band. Yes the Live at Leeds version of this song was fantastic. Yet when I heard this version it seemed to have even a more uniquely flair about it. With a flavour of an un-rehearsed let’s see what happens improvisation and ironically it was that approach of this particular performance that made this version in my opinion much more enjoyable.
Like walking into a realm of muse not exactly knowing what to expect only knowing after it ended you understood what you just experienced nobody else had before.
But then wasn’t that what the Magic Bus was about? LOL
