Mount Pleasant Meadows Disaster Has Been Approved By The MGCB.

MIHBPA Website.

A victory for what would seem to be a certain few especially one in particular that is not only a HBPA board member but also a MQHA member as well. The biggest cheer leader for trying to acquire hero status among the Quarter Horsemen. But will this meet be beneficial for the rest of the Thoroughbred Horsemen?

Seems to me considering MPM’s Walter Bay requested that his meet in 2010 be cancelled due to no money and his request being honored by the MGCB. That the very short mixed breed meet made up of mostly Quarter Horses in 2011 were looking for another group to save them. Enter the MIHBPA.

As far as I’m concerned their hero should be booted from the HBPA board because this decision to run at MPM is already having its ramifications.

Wednesday upon this news breaking that the MGCB gave the OK for MPM and the HBPA releasing that information on their site. That Thistle Downs where the majority of the Michigan Horsemen have been accommodated when it was uncertain if Pinnacle Race Course would open at all this year now from what I’m being told by Horsemen is Thistle has issued their own private statement to these horsemen:

Anybody entering and shipping their horses to race at MPM, you can LEAVE THEM THERE.

In reality most race tracks who give out stalls do so for that track to have their races filled. They don’t give them out to be used as a training facility for another race track. Yes having the extra horses has definitely helped Thistle this year but foremost it gave the Mi. Horsemen a close venue from home to race at.

And Thistle isn’t the only track in which our horsemen are running at, but it is the main track they are being stabled at.

Of course it is allowed for trainers to enter and run races at other tracks while having a home base. Stake Races and races that don’t fill at home. But that’s the thing, Thistle Downs in Ohio is not the Michigan’s Horsemen home base. Thistle welcomed them with open arms, thus far it has benefited both.

I only wonder if Mountaineer will issue the same statement to Mi. Horsemen who are stabled there as well.

2 Furlongs for a Thoroughbred Race? It’s a joke.

One HBPA board member was so anxious about the money in escrow, he decided he would try to get all of it that was put aside FOR ALL THE THOROUGHBRED HORSEMEN. Problem is he has to literally win the races his trainer enters.

There will be Horsemen that won’t enter one horse at this bullshit meet.

And in the end it will be the HBPA and All of the Horsemen who take a bath so the Quarter Horsemen could benefit and those few T.B. trainers who will only bring their worst horses to MPM, but yet think theirs is better than others. And you will see the same names of those on the HBPA board who voted yes.

Personal Agenda. Your damn right. They were only looking out for their own asses hoping to gain what was being put aside for all.

Most of the T.B. trainers you see have always ran their few days at MPM mixed breed meet. But the more notoriety trainers you’ll now see are the ones who voted yes on this MPM T.B. meet while hoping to rake in most of the money. In their eyes it was screw their fellow Mi. horsemen.

This MPM meet will only hinder Thoroughbred Racing for any future in Michigan. And it has already put Mi. horsemen running out-of-state in a dilemma. It should have never happened.

HBPA paying for the shipping in and out, horsemen having to pay $400 entry fees before the race they enter starts. But as long as a few are happy that they cost everybody else at their expense. The T.B. Horsemen really needed this?

Well I know one thing for fact:

When you’re willing to settle for shit you don’t have a future because this is what Michigan will continue to hand you which is NOTHING.

This is what the HBPA voted for?

2 Furlongs. They should be ashamed of themselves calling this a Thoroughbred meet.

NOTE: Oct. 5, 2011

I stand on my criticism that this MPM meet should have never happened, that has not changed. But I stated some pretty harsh words to the effect that a certain individual should be booted from the HBPA board. In essence I believe that this individual only having got into T.B. racing in the State of Mi. in 2008 at the beginning of Pinnacle Race Course meet that they were just plain naive. About the Industry here, its past and some people they put their trust in that I knew wasn’t worthy of the trust. Some want to learn the hard way, but one thing I’ve never been is a liar. I’ll always tell you the way it honestly is, whether you take the advice is up to the individual.

As a HBPA board member there should be only one agenda and that’s the breed whose board you sit on. Many on this board did have personal agenda’s and looking at it from all views there was one trying to please everybody, but this shouldn’t have been done at the expense of the Thoroughbreds and some decisions voted by many were not to their benefit. They should have known better. How many people are you willing to get burned by? Walter Bay nor the Quarter Horsemen appreciated the fact that you saved the year for them more than you. That was evident when MPM marketing director Scott Csernyik  wouldn’t even Thank the HBPA in an article written on horse racing’s survival in Mi.. It was a slap in the T.B. Horsemens faces and it was infuriating.

Nevertheless I retract that a particular individual should be booted from the HBPA board. But the time for being naive must end and the awakening to your true situation and the people who in reality will always be your foes not friends must open your eyes completely or you will forever repeat the same mistakes.

Something all of the Mi. T.B. Horsemen have done from the beginning of time.
