Sentencing Today for Conklin Man Accused in Horse Slayings
GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC News) – Sentencing was this morning for Dennis Finkler, a 47-year-old Conklin man who pleaded no contest to animal torture and killing charges, along with a count of malicious destruction of property. He will be electronically tethered for 60 days; was placed on 24 months of probational, ordered to pay nearly 21 thousand dollars in restitution and fines, and instructed to serve 200 hours of community service. Finkler could have received up to five years in prison from Ottawa County Circuit Court Judge Jon Hulsing for his alleged February attack of horses owned by his wife and a Jamestown Township stable owner in an apparently jealous rage over a perceived romantic affair.

Two Beautiful loving Horses that never did a thing to anybody are dead. A 12 year-old Quarter Horse named “Mr. Total Package” and A 6 year-old Palomino named Gambler.
A vicious heartless bastard by the name of Dennis Finkler walked into their stalls at night while the horses slept peacefully and slashed their throats to leave them to slowly bleed out to death.
If somebody did this to a person how would they feel?
Getting weaker and weaker, more and more light-headed, becoming scared beyond scared.
Well that’s how these Horses felt like but unable to cry out PLEASE HELP ME. I DON’T WANT TO DIE. PLEASE.
And this piece of a shit JUDGE who is as heartless as Finkler could have gave a damn about anything those two horses felt like or how they felt dying.
Ottawa County Circuit Court Judge Jon Hulsing didn’t even give a day of jail time to Finkler for the lives of those two Horses. His sentence spoke blasting volumes. I don’t give a shit about two horses having been killed in this manner. Their lives were worth nothing.
The Sentence: 60 days of being on a tether and 200 hrs. of community service. And he has to pay $21,000 restitution ( and on different news sites the amount is $15,000-$20,000 ) and fines.
RESTITUTION???
How do you pay for the lives cut short of these horses. Their lives were priceless as any humans.
In this case worth more than Finkler and Hulsing could ever be. They are both as equally the lowest form of life that crawls this earth and I hope they both pay.
I hope that somebody cuts Finkler’s throat like he did those innocent beautiful horses he murdered. And this Judge deserves to be thrown off the bench.
He is what allows such shit to commit such acts. He enables criminals and the psychotic behavior they display. In fact with such a sentence of no jail time at all, Judge Jon Hulsing encourages more people to do whatever they please to helpless and defenseless animals.
And why this Judge thinks these two horses weren’t as helpless as a baby is beyond me. Your sick Judge Jon Hulsing you need mental help. You are not capable of sitting on a bench to Judge others for their crimes because you don’t think taking a knife and cutting a warm-blooded, breathing living animals jugular vein and causing death is a crime.
You can take your 60 day tether and shove it straight up your ass. Your $21,000 useless dollars that can never get these horses their lives back. 200 hours of Community service?
I volunteer all 200 hours of my time so I can beat this man on a continuous basis for ever single second of those 200 hours.
Judge Jon Hulsing sentence WAS NO PUNISHMENT for what Dennis Finkler did.
Both of these cowards deserve to be beaten beyond recognition.

And for those who have no Idea how long horses live. My closet friend who died in Dec. of 2006 had a 36-year-old Mare named Cimo.
Most if treated well like being fed and being taken good care of live into their late 20s to 30s.
Both of these Horses had a lifetime ahead of them. No more.
And their murderer didn’t receive one minute of jail time for this hideous act. Think of me what you will. I hope this inhuman coward dies in the same manner he killed those two horses. One second calm, next bleeding to death.
I’m so angry right now all I can see is RED.
Judge Jon Hulsing you are a heartless coward as well and a fabulous friend to the twisted sick society who do these sort of things.
You will be able to sleep tonight because you like Finkler have no conscience.

Dennis Finkler nor this Judge lives could ever equal their peaceful value.

“Jon boy” Husling is not too savvy when it comes to civil matters. Especially, matters concerning speech. Only in Ottawa Co. can a Christian Reformed Church member such as “Jon boy” quickly go from sleazy prosecutor with substandard conviction rate, to low rate judge over seeing civil matters. Another one of his idiotic “Opinions” is in the process of being appealed. Be careful in Ottawa Co. if your not Christian Reformed when “Jon boy” is involved.
“Jon boy”, you’d better serve the community back on the farm where you and your family came from.
Your constant remark about “Christian Reformed” tells me your not so much interested in the Blog and what is was about but rather his affiliate with this church. Never heard of the church you speak of and really don’t care about it. But one thing struck me about one of your comments: prosecutor with substandard conviction rate.
Obviously this poor standard carried over to being a Judge. He couldn’t get convictions and now refusing to hand out sentences that fit the crime. All I know is two horses had their lives taking away by the heartless bastard then a Judge let him further off the hook for what he did.
