Wednesday ” Words ” ~ The Monkees

Written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart.

Released in 1967.

Micky Dolenz – drums, vocals
Peter Tork – organ, guitar, vocals
Mike Nesmith – guitar, vocals
Davy Jones – vocals, percussion
For this album & song
Larry Taylor – bass

This song is off their fourth album Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. By the third album the groups four members actually took control finally over their music. And a Moog synthesizer was instrumental to the unique sound of the recording, introduced by Micky Dolenz.

Dolenz and Tork sang the lead vocals on this song which in my opinion was an exceptional recording that they ever produced. Finally after the bubble gum music they were forced to do, they showed that there was some definite validity to them as musicians.

And “Words” fit right in with the psychedelic sound of 1967.
