Rarely have I ever gone onto any other people’s Blogs on this Site or comment on them.
But his response and attack on me resolved in me really researching this sad individuals background. If he had researched any part of my blog he would have been able to see things from an adult point of view. On my Social Security Freeze Blog, my views are anything but Liberal. I have differing opinions on different subject matters. And with his child like immature comments he is also attempting to pass himself off as a Sheriff’s Deputy. He would not let this last response be told on his Blog/Comments. But here it is anyway whether he likes it or not.

I thought your last rant was your last. I generally call politicians names. Those who troll my blog and attack generally get attacked back. As for the record, I was a Sheriff’s Deputy for 14 years. I wore the badge proudly and served my community. After this, I decided to open a Private Investigation firm and also a gym. As for your liar claim, my name is public and I stand behind the opinions I express and comments I make. I don’t hide behind fake names or nicknames, as you clearly do. Put your name out there and prove you’re a man and stand behind your beliefs.
Remember, you came to my blog and informed me that I was not making my own opinion. This is typical of the intolerant liberals in society. I ripped you and you have still yet to debunk anything I’ve written.
I think most would take the opinion of someone with a law enforcement background over someone who shoveled out stalls at a race track anyday. Debate the article. Put forth information that proves I’m wrong or be gone troll.
I’ve already had a great career. I own two businesses that supports myself, my family and my lifestyle. I don’t have to stick my hand out and depend on others to support myself.

Government Actions
On June 2, 2008, a Consent Order was signed and entered by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission against respondent Scott A. Starnes. In the Consent Order, it was stipulated that Scott A. Starnes, while holding a real estate license, repeatedly paid owner proceeds late, failed to timely deliver management statements and repeatedly failed to enter into writen property management agreements; had checks drawn on his trust account returned for insufficient funds; and a trust account inspection performed pursuant to a number of written complaints found evidence of shortages, numerous electronic transfers from the rental trust account to the operating account, NSF fees, and numerous negative ledger balances. The respondent neither admits nor denies that the conduct described constitutes a violation of NCGS 93(a)(7),(8),(10),(12), and (15) but does not contest the maintenance of this case based on these facts and conclusion. The respondent waives all right to seek judicial review or to otherwise challenge the validity of this Consent Order. The respondent’s broker license number 179559 is revoked permanently.

Obama, GOP reach deal to extend tax cuts
The class warfare game has come to an end. Everyone who pays taxes will continue to pay the same amount of taxes in 2011. Yes, some idiots on the left have no clue but a tax cut means that the government takes less from your check. They do not give you a check. Tax cuts don’t add to the deficit. A deficit happens when the government spends more money than they take in. Economics 101.
Obama has finally ended his class warfare and bowed down to Republicans to extend those evil Bush tax cuts for the poor, middle class and wealthy. Yes, those 47% of Americans who pay no federal income will continue paying no federal income while receiving tax refunds in April. That is a sweet deal.
Politico reports:
The White House and congressional Republicans neared a deal on extending the Bush-era tax cuts to all Americans for two years, including wealthier families, President Barack Obama said Monday night.
But Obama already faces fierce resistance to the compromise, as House Democrats were no closer to signing on to the president’s deal after Monday’s round of meetings at the White House. In the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) also was non-committal, issuing a one-line statement after Obama’s remarks: “Now that the President has outlined his proposal, Senator Reid plans on discussing it with his caucus tomorrow.”
Looks like the Democrats are going to continue being obstructionists.
The deal also includes a payroll tax cut for workers in 2011, totaling $120 billion, and changes to the estate tax as well. Republicans would agree to renew jobless benefits for another 13 months without paying for them, which the GOP views as a significant concession.
But the Democrats passed PayGo into law. How can you pass a bill without paying for it? Isn’t that breaking the PayGo law?
The deal amounts to a major reversal for Obama – who campaigned for president on a pledge not to allow the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy to continue beyond their scheduled expiration on Dec. 31. But he sought to portray the compromise as a way to ensure that the middle class would get its tax cuts and blamed Republicans for preparing to kill them if it didn’t get its way on lowering taxes for the rich.
Republicans wanted everyone to receive equal treatment while Obama and Democrats used the classic class warfare tactics.
“I am not willing to let working families become collateral damage for Washington’s political warfare,” Obama said. “It would be the wrong thing to do. The American people didn’t send us here to wage symbolic battles or win symbolic victories. . . We cannot play politics at a time when the American people are looking to us to solve problems.”
Obama only played politics for the past 22 months. Just another example of Obama talking out of both sides of his mouth.
A new element of the deal emerged Monday, the payroll tax cut for workers. The deal includes a 2 percent employee payroll tax cut in 2011 – which sources said will have more than twice the economic impact next year as a one-year extension of Making Work Pay, an Obama tax cut that came along with the stimulus package.
More proof that Obama’s stimulus failed.
The White House also said the deal would fully protect the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Credit, and American Opportunity Tax Credit increases from the Recovery Act – about $40 billion in tax cuts.
The Earned Income and Child Tax Credits are from those evil Bush tax cuts that only benefitted the rich, as Democrats have screamed for over a decade. Now they are fighting to keep those evil Bush tax cuts in place, despite Obama’s promise. Sounds like another broken promise to add to Obama’s record of broken promises.

How much a year do you make? Did you even pay for the computer you use? I don’t watch news Pundits on any cable channel, I don’t use Politico or any blog sites, right or left wing. I research my own facts from Government and News sites that give accurate statistics. I don’t care about opinions. I only come to my own conclusion based on the facts.

I have no problem debating but typically people debate the subject of the article and don’t resort to the tirade of comments you’ve left. You have not debated a single item of the article.
As a typical liberal, you’ve retired early and are dependent upon us taxpayers to keep you up in life. I’m glad you worked all those years but retirement age is 62. This is what is killing America. We have parasites who feed upon the productive in society and continue sticking their hands out for more. Greece, Spain and Portugal are currently being bailed out for the type of lifestyle you proudly live.
Yes, the South did have terrorists. They were called Democrats who were pro-slavery and gave us the first terrorist group called the KKK. The Southern Democrats gave us slaverly, secession, segregation and present day Democrats are giving us socialism. The Democrats are the party who voted against the 13th, 14th, 15th and 19th Amendments. The Democrats voted against ever single piece of civil rights legislation in history and voted NO, by a 3 to 1 margin, on the historic 1965 Civil Rights Act. Then we can’t forget the lynchings of blacks and Republicans who fought to end slavery. All this on top of poll taxes and Jim Crow laws to keep people enslaved and oppressed.
I’ve already had a great career. I own two businesses that supports myself, my family and my lifestyle. I don’t have to stick my hand out and depend on others to support myself.

I think anybody with common sense will see a person with different perspectives on different subject matters does in fact have their own views, opinions and a mind of their own. I thought your last rant was your last. I generally call politicians names. Those who troll my blog and attack generally get attacked back. As for the record, I was a Sheriff’s Deputy for 14 years. I wore the badge proudly and served my community. After this, I decided to open a Private Investigation firm and also a gym. As for your liar claim, my name is public and I stand behind the opinions I express and comments I make. I don’t hide behind fake names or nicknames, as you clearly do. Put your name out there and prove you’re a man and stand behind your beliefs.
Remember, you came to my blog and informed me that I was not making my own opinion. This is typical of the intolerant liberals in society. I ripped you and you have still yet to debunk anything I’ve written.
I think most would take the opinion of someone with a law enforcement background over someone who shoveled out stalls at a race track anyday. Debate the article. Put forth information that proves I’m wrong or be gone troll.

Former Grantville manager likely to lose job offer

Glenn Scott Starnes, who resigned in October as Grantville’s city ( Georgia ) manager after being arrested for trying to buy marijuana during a sting operation conducted by Grantville police, last week was offered a job as the city manager of Taft, Texas.
Starnes didn’t mention his drug arrest during the interview process, said Sid Arismendez, city attorney for Taft, a city of about 3,400 residents near Corpus Christi.
When Arismendez decided to search the Internet for information on Starnes, stories on the drug arrest from The Times-Herald popped up.

Starnes did tell the council he’d been convicted of lying on his resume when he was city manager of Eagle Pass, Texas.
The Grantville City Council had known that Starnes had been fired from Eagle Pass — and convicted of a misdemeanor charge of falsifying government documents — when it hired Starnes in October 2008.
When the Taft City Council was interviewing applicants, Starnes emerged as the clear favorite.
“He’s a smooth talker. The council just loved him,” Arismendez said last week. Starnes would have received a salary in the $60,000 range, according to the Caller-Times.
Arismendez also said last week he expected the council to take formal action either Monday or today to withdraw the job offer. Arismendez did not respond to repeated telephone calls on Monday.
Starnes has been charged with conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, which is a felony charge, according to Coweta Judicial Circuit Assistant District Attorney Ray Mayer of the Newnan office.
Starnes was originally charged with possession of marijuana, which is a misdemeanor charge when the amount is less than one ounce, and party to the crime of the sale of marijuana.
Starnes was released on bond and has not yet been indicted, Mayer said. He won’t be considered for indictment in the January grand jury session coming up Jan. 4; Starnes’ case will likely be heard in the March court term, Mayer said.
The charges on which Starnes might actually be indicted may differ from the current charges, Mayer said.
Starnes’ Oct. 2 arrest was the result of a month-long investigation by the Grantville Police Department.
According to a press release issued after the arrest by the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, during the course of the investigation, officers were “advised by a confidential informant” that Starnes “was wanting to purchase marijuana.”
According to the press release, “investigators with the Crime Suppression Unit and Grantville Police met with the informant, who made a controlled delivery of marijuana to Mr. Starnes. Scott Starnes was immediately placed under arrest.”
Arismendez said that, when he questioned Starnes about the incident, “he told me that the possession charge did not apply to him — that the guy in the car with him had marijuana in his pocket,” Arismendez said.
The city of Taft has been having its own city manager problems.
The former city manager is currently under investigation by the Texas Rangers, Arismendez said.
According to the Caller-Times, the Taft Council voted 3 to 2 in October to fire then-City Manager Florencio Sauceda, in the midst of an investigation by the Texas Rangers and the District Attorney’s Office into city operations. That investigation is ongoing.
In August, Sauceda was disciplined for allowing the filming of a rap video, “Swangn,” in town. According to the Associated Press, the video prominently showed several city landmarks and even featured a Taft police officer.
In the AP story, Councilman Ronnie Segovia says that the video portrays an image that the city is trying to overcome. According to other stories in the Caller-Times, the city has also had problems with getting a quorum of city council members to attend budget meetings.

TAFT — The man Taft City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to hire as its city manager quit his last job in Georgia after he was arrested on suspicion of buying marijuana and was fired from a prior city manager position for fabricating parts of his resume.
Before council voted to hire Glen Scott Starnes, he told them that he had past issues, but he left out some details, said Taft Councilman Ronnie Segovia, who is rethinking the decision.
During a closed session interview, Starnes told council that he is city manager in Grantville, Ga., a town of 2,600 about 50 miles southwest of Atlanta, Segovia said Wednesday.
But Starnes quit in October, days after he was arrested on suspicion of buying marijuana, according to The Times-Herald in Coweta County, Ga.
A felony charge is pending, said John Kennedy, a senior sergeant with the Coweta County Crime Suppression Unit Narcotics Task Force.
“The district attorney’s office has the case file,” Kennedy said.
Starnes is free on $5,050 bail, Kennedy said.
Attempts to reach Starnes were unsuccessful. The Caller-Times filed an open records request Wednesday with Taft seeking a copy of his resume and contact information.
“We voted to hire him. We still have to talk to him,” Segovia said. “There still are a lot of negotiations that we have to do. He did not mention any issue in Georgia. I didn’t hear anything about that. And it’s not set in stone. We haven’t signed anything yet.”
Grantville hired Starnes in 2008. Mayor Casey Houston and council members Rochelle Jabaley, Barham Lundy, Debi Rogers and Nick Sasso were unavailable Thursday.
Taft Mayor Bobby Vega said early Wednesday that the city hired Starnes, because he was the most qualified candidate who applied based on his resume.
“He has a lot of experience as an administrator and city manager,” Vega said. “He is coming from Georgia. (His salary) will be in the $60,000 range. We still need to negotiate.”
Vega was unavailable for comment after additional information on Starnes surfaced Wednesday afternoon.
Before working in Georgia, Starnes was interim city manager in Eagle Pass. The city council fired him Jan. 15, 2008, for embellishing his resume, and he was arrested following the meeting.
A San Antonio Express-News investigation found every item listed on Starnes’ resume was fictional, including a claimed doctorate and jobs as an assistant city manager in Converse and as an aide to a Houston congressman.
Starnes’ resume listed three degrees from the “University of Maryland — East Shore — Rockville,” including a doctorate in economics received in 2000, which the Express-News said it proved didn’t exist.
Starnes then said his degrees came from Rochville University, an online institution that sells various degrees, the Express-News reported. Online advertisements for the school promise “No studies, No Attendance, No Waiting, No Examinations, No Hefty Fee.”
Starnes was arrested on suspicion of fraudulently getting a government job. A month later he pleaded guilty to fraud, substandard or fictitious degree, according to Maverick County Clerk Sara Montemayor’s office. He was fined $1,500.
Starnes mentioned issues in Eagle Pass to Taft council, Segovia said.
“He told me had been in trouble in Eagle Pass,” Segovia said. “He (said he) had gotten exonerated. It was misdemeanor something about that he misspelled a word — an H instead of a K.”
The spelling of Rochville University is a one-letter difference from Rockville, the location of the institution from which he first claimed degrees.
Starnes told Taft council that he went to college at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, but did not get a degree there, Segovia said. Starnes also told council he got degrees over the Internet.
“We have hired city managers without a degree,” Segovia said. “We are not going to hold anybody to that. We had two (candidates) that did not have degrees. That doesn’t mean they can’t do the job.”
In October, Taft City Council voted 3-2 to fire City Manager Florencio Sauceda in the midst of a Texas Rangers and District Attorney’s Office investigation into city operations.
The investigation continues, according to District Attorney Patrick Flanigan.
Sauceda got a written reprimand from City Council in August for giving rappers permission to shoot a video in the city. The profanity-laden video drew complaints from some residents that it glorified gangs, prostitution and drugs and portrayed the city in a bad light.
Taft Council members Lucy Lopez, Martin Salcido and Roy Stegall were unavailable Wednesday.
Taft Lacks Quorum and Doesn’t Vote on City Manager Finalist

TAFT — An emergency City Council meeting to reconsider its city manager finalist ended abruptly on Tuesday when the council didn’t have enough members to vote.
The council intended to look at its Dec. 22 hiring of Glen Scott Starnes, a candidate who faces a felony charge and who council members said had not been vetted when he was chosen as a finalist. The council also intended to consider other potential candidates.
Now the issue will wait until the council’s regular Jan. 12 meeting, Mayor Bobby Vega said.
Council members Lucy Lopez and Martin Salcido were absent Tuesday night after calling the city secretary to inform her they would not attend. The council needed a super majority of four members because it was a special called meeting. Vega and Councilmen Ronnie Segovia and Roy Stegall attended the meeting.
Vega, Segovia and Stegall called attention to Lopez’s and Salcido’s absence Tuesday, after the three voted recently to sanction Lopez and Salcido for missing several consecutive meetings called to pass a city budget.
“It was somewhat urgent,” Vega said Tuesday. “We were looking at finalizing the candidate for the position. We were actually going into executive session to deliberate over the other two candidates and look at Mr. Starnes’ background.”
The council didn’t know when it chose Starnes as the lone finalist for the job that he faces a felony marijuana charge. Other issues also have arisen from Starnes’ resume and his statements to city officials.
Vega said it always had been the city’s intention to check Starnes’ background after he was named the finalist, instead of before. Instead, the day after the council voted unanimously to hire Starnes, the Caller-Times reported several issues with his history.
Starnes faces a pending felony marijuana charge in Grantville, Ga., where he was city manager.
The council also did not know the extent of Starnes’ issues as city manager in Eagle Pass. They did not know he had pleaded guilty to a fraud charge related to false claims on the resume he submitted to Eagle Pass.
Starnes has described the Taft issues as misunderstandings that can be overcome, and has said that he doesn’t expect to be convicted in the marijuana incident.
City Continuing Search for New Administrator

Finding goods and services can always be a bit of a challenge. In a small, rural town, that can be compounded by the remoteness of our location, and of the inability to get everything we need in a timely fashion. The Mason City Commission is also finding that it can be difficult to find qualified candidates for city administrator, for many of the same reasons.
During their December 14 meeting, the City Commission voted to extend an offer to Scooter Radcliffe, who until May of this year, had been the city manager of Bellmead. Mr. Radcliffe declined the City’s offer, at almost the same time that the City learned that he had been let go from his prior position after 19 years, and that he had allegedly crashed a city vehicle, while under the influence of alcohol, just prior to his firing.
The Mason Commission held a special meeting on December 21 to take a vote on their second choice, Glen Scott Starnes. Starnes was the city manager of Eagle Pass before being dismissed for providing false information on application documents. He then moved on to Grantville, GA. He left there earlier this fall after allegedly being involved in the purchase of marijuana. Most recently, the city of Taft, TX voted to extend him an offer of employment; but, the Corpus Christi Caller-Times reports that that city is now reconsidering its decision.

I do know one thing this Scotty Starnes blogging here is no Sheriff Deputy. From some of the links I pulled up he is a jack of all trades, mostly ripping people off. While I’m at it after I call the BBB about Starnes & Associates, LLC and the individuals in those real estate deals he ran from. They can decide if in-fact it is the same Individual as person here portraying themselves as Sheriff’s Deputy.
