Song of the Night ~ Chimes ~ The J. Geils Band

Released in 1973 from the Ladies Invited album.

Written by Peter Wolf and Seth Justman

This is one of my favorite J. Geils Songs mostly for it’s notable Blues Attributes ( In 67′ called the J. Geils Blues Band ). They came from Boston but you would of never knew it as the Motor City adopted them as their own. And they treated us as if they were a Detroit Band. I saw them in 74 at Cobo, the Live version of this song is phenomenal. So I’m going to see if I can download that version as well and post it. Everything from the Live 72 Full House album recorded at The Cinderella Ballroom defined this group.

But Chimes grabbed my Soul.

Stephen Bladd – percussion, drums, vocals
J. Geils – guitar
Seth Justman – keyboard, vocals
Danny Klein – bass
Magic Dick – harmonica, trumpet
Peter Wolf – vocals

Perfect song to let your inhibitions down, lose yourself and just Dance and Ball the night away. All night long ~
