My God, with due respect Senators, the House passed HB4288 105-1, and now the Senate won’t even hear this to the 10th?
TRACKS WILL BE FORCED TO SHUT DOWN BEFORE BREEDER CUP RACES WEEKEND.
Nobody in this state will be allowed to go to any Race Track and bet on any of these races here. How disheartening. I’ve worked in the Thoroughbred Industry since I was 19 years old. I started at DRC in 1976. HORSE RACING GENERATES MONEY FOR THE STATE, IT ALWAYS HAS AND IT ALWAYS WILL IF ALLOWED TO.
How could this Senate do this to us? How could you do this to the State? And My God WHY? Why would this Senate do this? Why don’t you just take guns and shoot all of us dead. Horses and Industry of people who work with them. Because in essence this is what you are doing anyway. Shooting and sticking a Dagger into the Heart and Soul of the Horse Racing Industry in the State of Michigan. And no one has any understanding of any of this.
It’s heartless and it’s cruel and hurts everyone, mostly the State you Represent. Michigan
Please reconsider this action and hear and vote on HB4288 Immediately. The Breeders Cup Races are as Prestigious as the Triple Crown Races. In Fact even more Prevalent.
Please do not allow us to be SHUT DOWN.

And if our Governor, Jennifer Granholm really cares about Michigan’s Economy and the Impact this Complete Horse Track Shut Down will cause in lost Revenue. I also would urge her to make some Emergency phone calls to Sen. Bishop and the rest of the Senate as well.
